Awards recognize companies for superior website design and content
Chicago, IL - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SEATTLE/CHICAGO, September 11, 2007- Today, boats.com and the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) announced they are now accepting nominations for the 2008 North American Marine Industry Web Awards. The Awards are designed to recognize companies that lead the North American marine industry's drive towards higher standards of excellence in website design and content.
Five award categories have been created to honor various segments of the North American marine industry and the companies in those segments whose websites demonstrate creativity in design, ease of navigation and up-to-date, relevant content. The Awards have been organized to recognize the following categories: Best OEM/Manufacturer Site; Best Marine Equipment Site; Best Dealer/Broker Site; and Best Marine Site Overall.
The fifth and final category, Outstanding Contribution to the Online Marine Industry, is open to any individual who has made a significant contribution to the development of the Internet within the industry.
The judging panel for the 2008 awards is currently being assembled and, once finalized, will include one person nominated by boats.com, one by NMMA and three additional Internet professionals with appropriate credentials and experience from outside of the industry.
"There is no doubt about the importance of the Internet in lead generation and the sales process in any market conditions, let alone the tough conditions we are currently experiencing," says Debra Keene Bergeron, general manager of boats.com/YachtWorld.com. "boats.com and NMMA wish to recognize and acknowledge the companies in our industry that lead the way in attracting consumers and generating leads, so we may encourage others to do the same."
To nominate a company or an individual complete the online application on the new dedicated web awards website: www.boats.com/nawebawards/index.html, which includes all relevant award information.
Winning companies will hold their prestigious title for one year and will also receive a trophy exclusively designed by world renowned yacht designer Tony Castro. Awards will be presented at a special ceremony during the 2008 Miami International Boat Show, being held February 14-18 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
